Black Ops Guide

First of all let's review the types of players there are in Black Ops:

Snipers: They camp with the sniper and shoot everyone up. They may have claymores or TIs so watch out if you're planning a frontal assault. Grenades work great as a countermeasure or just find a concealed spot and shoot them; no biggie. Since Black Ops doesn't offer machine pistols, most snipers feel compelled to just camp.

Tactical Snipers: They usually have low-recoil LMGs or assault rifles fitted with variable zoom or infrared scopes. These snipers are dangerous because most of them are still lethal at long range, but also have the power of full-auto (unless they have the semiauto or 3roundburst) at close range. Most of them will have Steady Aim on. Dealing with tactical snipers can be tricky, since they usually don't camp as much. How 'bout them grenades?

Campers: Hiding in a spot, waiting for the rabbit to come by. Luckily, Black Ops doesn't have many good camping positions but there are still some spots. 'Nade through the window or opening, snipe them, flash them and then give them some horizontal rain; your call. Be careful, they'll most likely have claymores equipped.

Knifers: With the death of Commando (MW2 perk) goes death to many knifers. But thanks to the snazzy Ballistic Knife, which allows players to shoot knives and also quicken knifing and also lunge, the knifing breed has not become extinct. Simple counter tactic, just shoot them up before they reach you. Don't try to knife them back; they'll have greater knifing rate, accuray, and range. Don't forget they can launch knives too.

Normal Players: No explaining needed. Shoot em up.

Quickscopers: These types of players are more commonly found on MW2 that Black Ops, because Treyarch has attempted to eliminate quickscoping from Black Ops. However, there is still a small, selective group of hardcore players and true believers that are still attempting the impossible. Watch for quickscopers; the snipers in Black Ops shoot randomly in the crosshair, which means quickscoping is still achievable, but at the cost of a slightly longer accurate-shooting time. Although quickscopers are now forced to actually aim, they are still capable of a massive amount of kills, thanks to the fact that snipers usually take only 1 shot to kill. Perhaps this is why Treyarch reduced the power of sniper rifles so much in Black Ops?

Tactics Section:
- Suppressor suppressor suppressor. They will save you. Always have them on.
- Stick to the edges of the map. Rushing into the hotstops (usually the middle) and you will get owned from all sides.
- When in doubt, throw a grenade. This always works and sometimes may get you a multikill.
- Stick with your teammates. Two guns are better than one.
- Watch for the death sign. When teammates die, there will be a skull marking there place of death for a short time. Use this to your advantage since enemies will be always close by.
- Use the Spy Plane. You will get a lot of kills.
- Unlock Ghost Pro. This is never a bad perk since when there's a heli out, you won't get blown up every time you poke your head out the window.
- Don't use full-auto attachment for pistols. They are inaccurate and the damage is too low. Instead, use the upgraded iron sights.
- Have on a red dot. Red dots are slightly better that reflexes since they offer 1.5x zoom over the reflex's 1.0x zoom. Either way, precision never hurts.
- When stealing care packages, wait until right before the package drops before killing the enemy player waiting for it. Sometimes the enemy may hide so you may have to wait; but be ready!
